If there is a chromosome in Locomotive DNA that matters more than the others, it is versatility. Every single phase of the design has always considered all the cases of use and transformation to ensure the customer can adapt to the different types of foreseen and unexpected use and to the evolution of cycling standards.

All Locomotives are born with variable geometry to adapt to wheels ranging from 700c x 35 to 29 Plus 3.0 thanks to the double geometry adjustment system. The hub standard is the ultra-modern Boost which guarantees the necessary wheel passage for the bulky and protective tires indispensable in extreme areas and climates.

Westlander and Scotsman are equipped with a conversion kit mounted in the dropouts. By moving the position of 4 washers, it allows the assembly of 142 × 12 wheels with a stop, maintaining a perfect chain line and the correct position of the disc brake.

In this way you will not only be able to mount the wheels of your Gravel 700c on the Locomotive but also increase the chances of finding a compatible wheel if you need to replace the rear wheel during a trip.

With this update Wstlander and Scotsman can use two different lines (which is very rare) and do so without having to carry additional adapters.

Last note: This function is already included on all Locomotives sold from March 15, 2019. For those who purchased the Locomotive before March 15, 2019, the update is not only possible but also free and immediately available.
